What we assess
The change is requested while your current permit or stay is still valid; there is no fixed window. From a residence permit without work rights, such as non-lucrative residence: with less than one year, only to employed work and subject to the national employment situation; with more than one year, to employed work without that limit or to self-employment. If you start from a permit that already allows work and you have held it for at least one year, the new one is granted for four years. Do not start the new activity until it is granted.
