What we assess
The general period is ten years of legal, continuous residence immediately before the application. It is five years for refugees; two for nationals by origin of Ibero-American countries, Andorra, the Philippines, Equatorial Guinea and Portugal, or Sephardic Jews; and one for people born in Spain, people married to a Spanish citizen for one year and not separated, and other cases under article 22 of the Civil Code. The DELE A2 (except Spanish speakers) and CCSE exams are required. If there is no decision within one year, the application is deemed refused; after the grant you have 180 days to take the oath.
