What we assess
The application is made in person at the Asylum and Refugee Office (Oficina de Asilo y Refugio), an authorised police station or the border post, and it is best to file it as soon as possible after arrival. Since 12 June 2026, Regulations (EU) 2024/1348 and 2024/1351 apply, and Law 12/2009 only where compatible. If there is no decision after six months for reasons not attributable to you, you can work. While the application is pending you cannot apply for arraigo, and that time does not count towards the two years of stay.

What support covers
Support can include preparing your account and documents, advice and assistance during the procedure, and appeals. The application is made by personal appearance: legal assistance does not replace the acts you must carry out in person.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost and include?
The consultation and the full application are separate services. After reviewing the case, a quote specifies included work; fees, translations and other expenses are listed separately.
When should I start?
As soon as possible after arriving in Spain. If you already have a decision, the appeal deadline may be much shorter than the usual two months: send us the decision the same day.
