What we assess
Since 20 May 2025, family members of Spanish citizens have their own permit, separate from the EU family member card. It covers the spouse, a registered or stable partner (with twelve months of living together or a child in common), children under 26 or dependent, dependent parents, parents of a Spanish minor and other dependent family members. Following the Supreme Court judgment of 8 July 2026, the partnership does not have to have been formed under Spanish law, the dependency of parents can also be proven while already in Spain, and criminal records require an individual assessment. It is granted for five years and allows you to work.

Frequently asked questions
What does it cost and include?
The consultation and the full application are separate services. After reviewing the case, a quote specifies included work; fees, translations and other expenses are listed separately.
When should I start?
Before your relative travels or before their stay ends: depending on the regime, the application can be filed from Spain or requires a visa.
